The Postsecular Sacred is a fascinating exploration of the emergence of the sacred in the western world.

There has been a consensus, particularly evident in the 1970s and 80s, that a secularist, materialist view of the world has replaced religion and spirituality in the west and will eventually in the east as well. Clearly, this has not occurred.

There is evidence of a profound search for new forms of spirituality in western countries. Tacey reviews these recent trends with a particular eye on the Australian context.

He offers compelling insights into what has been driving this human quest and what we must do to capture a lasting, satisfying and healthy spirituality in our land and beyond.

ISBN: 978-0-367-20322-1. Paperback, 2019. Published by Routledge, London, New York

David Tacey is Emeritus Professor of Humanities, and the author of fifteen books on spirituality, Jungian psychology, Australian society and Aboriginal cultures.
