Library Update

We take this opportunity to acknowledge the valuable contribution of long-term member, Maxwell Ketels, whose health prompted his retirement as Hon. Secretary and Librarian (six years) early in 2015.  We have all missed Maxwell and wish him well for the future.

The Society owes a great deal of thanks to Julie Douglas for stepping into the breach and meeting the challenge of responsibility for the Library during 2015.  This was a difficult and unexpected transition for all of us, especially as the new tambour cabinets were about to be ordered.  Julie did a heroic job of overseeing the ensuing reconfiguration of the Library, and ensured that Library services to members continued in a professional manner.

After finding a successor Julie stepped down from the Committee and the position of Librarian in December. She will continue to offer her services as and where it is needed.  On behalf of the Jung Society, thank you, Julie.

The Society is now pleased to welcome new member, Darleen McPeek, JD as our first professionally qualified Librarian.

As well as familiarizing herself with the Library, Darleen is already busy coordinating with Robert Wolff, the huge task of putting bar codes on all our books in preparation to massaging the whole of our collection into a professional Library standard catalogue using computer software designed for Libraries.  Once this is finished we will have at hand a powerful tool for identifying how the Library is actually used and know its strengths and weaknesses.  So watch this space!
